Florida’s E-Verify Expansion: How It Affects Immigrant Workers and Employers

To be clear, Florida’s 2023 E-Verify law has changed the landscape for both workers and employers. What was once a federal option has become a state mandate — and with it comes new risks and responsibilities.
What the Law Requires
As of July 1, 2023, all private employers with 25 or more employees must use E-Verify to confirm work authorization. Those who fail to comply face fines and possible license suspension.
The Human Impact
Behind every policy are families, dreams, and livelihoods. For immigrant workers, E-Verify creates new barriers and heightens fear of mistakes that can cost jobs. For business owners, it demands administrative accuracy and legal precision.
Our Perspective
At The Law Office of Anthony Jimenez, we believe compliance should never come at the expense of compassion. We help businesses design ethical verification procedures and assist immigrant families navigating their status with dignity and care.
The Broader Message
E-Verify is a reminder that law and humanity must coexist. Florida’s economy thrives on hard work — and justice demands that hard work be met with respect, not fear.
